Three Bugti IDPs set to be hanged on fake charges of terrorism.

According to a report published on Dawn.com, An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday sentenced three members of a Balochistan based banned organization to death along with a fine and confiscation of properties in a pipeline blast case.

Prominent Baloch leader of Balochistan and chief of pro-independence political party, Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti in his series of tweets condemned and criticized the decision of the court while saying that Pakistan’s flawed Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced three innocent Bugti IDPs Pahrdin s/o Azim Bugti, Ramzan s/o Juma Bugti and Mewa s/o Thagya Bugti to death by hanging on Monday.

Adding that “we call on UPR to save these innocent lives.” It is also worth mentioning here that UN member states will review Pakistan’s human rights record for the third time through the Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism on Nov 13; While, Pakistani army-establishment continue to violate human rights in Balochistan.

Recently, Pakistan forces abducted Raiz Bugti along with his mother Mah Bibi from a village near Hyderabad Sindh, called Kacha on 31th of Oct. Nine teenage school students belonging to Balochistan’s Awaran region were also abducted by Pakistani secret services from Karachi.

Mr Bugti further said that “Pakistan judicial system, like all other state institutions, is seriously flawed and being used to persecute & carry out a genocide of the Baloch people. UN must take serious action in UPR to save Baloch people.”

According to Dawn report the convicted Bugti IDPs were arrested from Rahimyar Khan in 2014, but relatives of the convicted victims told BRP Media Cell that these people were abducted by the intelligence agencies of Pakistan from the house of Mewa Bugti in Sadiqabad area of Rahim Yar Khan District in 2012. They also said that victims had no affiliation with any political or armed group.

This decision came right after head of Bugti tribe and prominent Baloch leader Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti called a meeting of all Baloch leaders in Switzerland for unity and announced a joint worldwide awareness campaign against Baloch Genocide along with Baloch leader Nawab Mehran Marri.

Baloch activists campaigning on social media say that timing of court decision shows that state is putting pressure on Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti to sabotage his unity process which is taking place in Switzerland under his leadership for about past eight to nine months.
